This is my first tattoo which I got done at Southmead tattoo studio. Peacock feathers symbolise pride and this tattoo shows that I am finally proud of who I am.

Both of these tattoos were done by Mike LaFrance of Triple Crown in Bremerton, WA.

I got the phoenix in April 2010 as a symbol of rebirth after recovering from some personal issues. The betta followed in October 2011 as a symbol of the relationship with my mom; she has a matching one on her arm. I like how together they symbolize balance of opposites, kind of yin and yang. These are by far my favorite tattoos.

I represents balance in life.. one moment you can be in the sky (good), and then, you can fall to earth.. So that’s why I wanted a thin line in the middle so that could be the place to stay in.. the BALANCE, and it’s orange, as a warm color, an inviting color

I got this tattooed since I’ve hurt ex girlfriends and some other people in my life just because I’ve been selfish.. I’ve been changing that and trying to be a better human everyday, so this tattoo is a reminder of maintaining a balance in life.

This is a Mucha-inspired siren by David Hale at LoveHawk Studios in Athens, GA. I got this tattoo to remind me to be wary of temptations in life. So far it hasn’t helped…. :P

This is my friend’s tattoo. It was an entry on Pinoy Tattoo Journal, an on-the-spot tattoo contest held last March at a mall in Pasay City, Philippines. Artists were challenged to create unique designs with Filipino themes. Rightfully so, it won first place. I think the concept is very unique and the design itself distinctly Filipino. It mirrors the present Philippine culture far better than any other cliche designs.

My husband and I have known each other since middle school, we have been best friends since high school. We have went to middle school dances together, danced at the prom together, survived through deployment and children. For Valentines Day, after being together for 14 years, we got our initials on each others ring finger. It hurt like it was going through the bone!! But it was well worth it! They were done by Joe at Blue Flame tattoo in Raleigh, NC. I have more pics if need be.

This was my girlfriend’s first traditional tattoo. It was done by Jesse WIlson at Artistic Design in Indianapolis. Jesse is an amazing tattooer, and I recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Indy.

This is my first ever tattoo! I have always found trees to be the most beautiful thing on the planet and have appreciated their symbol of life for a very long time. I got this done at Topnotch tattoos in elgin Illinois by Steve. I love it to death and am very happy how it turned out!

This is my typographic fleuron tattoo! The radish glyph was used in many traditionally printed books. As a graphic designer it remains my favorite glyph to use in publishing. It was done by Mark at Oak City Tattoo in Raleigh NC. I can’t believe his incredible detail.
