This is for my cat Pandora, but I always called her Panda. We spent almost seven years together. She was killed by a Pitbull in front of me, and I tried to save her but I couldn’t, it was too late. Now she walks with me every day.

My first tattoo, this was a graduation present to myself. It is Sylvia Plath’s sketch for her only novel, “The Bell Jar”. Her poetry and “The Bell Jar” got me through a lot and made me feel comfortable with myself and always let me know, that I was not alone. This is the last published work she had before she died. I believe it is her true self, everything, leaving nothing out.

It was done thanks to Jeremie at American Ink & Iron in Jasper, Georgia, who I’ll definitely be going back to for more tattoos. ‘Love yourself’ is from the line ‘forget everything else & learn to love yourself’ in the song Products of Poverty by Craig Owens. I met him at warped Tour and asked him to write ‘love yourself’ for me and here we are. My daily reminder is sitting happily on my left wrist and I’m in love with it. <3

This is my blue bird tattoo I have on my right forearm. I got this one after getting through a rough patch in my life.
The blue bird comes from the song Bluebird by Sara Bareilles. This song alone helped me heal during this time in my life. It is leaving the cage as a representation of me being free from things that were keeping me from living my life to its fullest.

So I was my instagram and my tattoo artist posted the black and white sketch of this tattoo. Not even three hours after he posted it, it was confirmed I was coming in the next day to get it. I let Nick do all the coloring himself, and I had virtually no idea what he was going to do. It turned out great and I’m absolutely in love with.
