My sister and I grew up loving comic books. As we became older, we fell in love with the villains of Batman. Their depth and their tragedy appealed to us. Her and I cosplay as Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn now. After I graduated college this year, we got matching (and first) tattoos. On December 27th, 2011 I received a message from a beautiful girl who saw my tattoo on http://fyeahtattoos.com/.
In April of 2012, after months of skyping, I went to Buffalo, NY and met said beautiful girl for the first time in person.
In March of 2013, after a little over one very long year of long distance, said beautiful girl moved to Rockford, IL.
On October 25th, 2014 that perfect girl and I attended a concert at one of our favorite local venues. Little did she know that I set up the entire concert just so I could propose to her. I had our great friends from the band MUTTS (Chicago) learn Sarah and I’s song by Bayside, while the entire month prior I learned one of their songs because they were going to let me “join them” for that song and that way Sarah wouldn’t question why I was bringing my guitar to their show. I also had spent a few months going back and taking screenshots of our very first interactions on tumblr, skype, etc. to create a video of our timeline to play behind Mutts and I (which can be seen here [x]). Lastly, I flew her mom to Rockford from Buffalo for the weekend as an added surprise for Sarah. I was able to incorporate her by acting like I forgot the ring and have her step in to hand it to me.

On October 1st, 2016 I’ll be married to that beautiful girl, all thanks to one picture of a tattoo and the amazing blog that posted it.
