This is my third tattoo, but the other ones are tiny little things, so this was my first “real” tattoo. I just LOVE owls. I think they are so cute and quirky. The lyrics in the ribbon are from the song “Northern Downpour” by Panic! At The Disco. I have always loved those lyrics and that song. It makes me feel optimistic. This piece was done by Izzy at Hartford County Tattoo in Bristol, CT. She’s the best!

I got this anchor because it represents BEATING THE ODDS. I suffer from OCD, Anxiety, Panic disorder, and Depression but I will never let it get the best of me. I have seen the horrible things it can do to people and make people do to themselves and this is my reminder that it doesn’t have to be that way. I am the frail balloon holding up the unthinkable weight of this anchor and it will NEVER win. My artist was Aaron Cutts whom I have known for years through a mutual friend, but never met face to face until I had this done yesterday (2/21/12). He has his own in-home, LEGIT shop, Heathen Ink, located in Farmer’s Branch, TX.
I’ve been planning this tattoo since last May. The pentagram belongs to the band Oh, Sleeper but I couldn’t just get it tatted on me like so many of their fans (no disrespect). I wanted mine to be different and have multiple meanings. I chose to have an arrow with a steel head to make reference to “We Are the Archers” and “The Marriage of Steel and Skin”. This band has helped me with retaining my faith and giving me courage. Aaron did an amazing job and I would be delighted to have him as my default artist to go to.

I got these two at the same time. The house is the house I moved into when my parents split up, and was the first house that felt like home. It’s the house I lived in when I met my sister, It’s the house that will always feel the most like home in Oregon. The other is my favorite Bob Dylan song, and a reminder for me. I tend to overthink a lot and miss out on opportunities because I talk myself out of them. Since I got the reminder I’ve done that less. Both were done at a small shop in Oregon by a man named Chris Richardson.

inspired by the song Over The Rainbow, this tattoo is dedicated to my best friend who passed away nearly 2 years ago. for her - the half of my soul that is wandering somewhere across the sky, I got this tattoo done near my heart, reminding me that even if the sky collapses, she will be there, like a bluebird flying over the rainbow, waiting for me.
this song saved me from myself back then, and it always will.

This is my first tattoo. It represents good memories and good time. When I was younger I used to live right by the water with my brother and sisters. We would all watch the boats and ships sail by and have a awesome time together. Those were some of the best memorys of us all being together and are unforgettable. Thank you for the ink Shannon :)
