My grandma grew up in London, joined the Royal Air Force, then met my grandpa who was in the American Army at a 1945 New Year’s Eve tea dance in London. He went back to America, they wrote back-&-forth for about 2 years, then she got up & left for the States to marry him. So this tattoo was a tribute to their love story.

My dad’s nickname for me growing up was “Alyssa Bear” and this is a line from a song he created and used to sing to me often when I was younger. After my parent’s divorced a few years ago, my mother pushed me away and I ended up living with my dad and our relationship has grown into something I can’t live without. He has never given up on me and continues to support me in everything I do and without him, I would not be where I am today.
I will forever and always be Daddy’s Bear.

I know this tattoo is not art or anything, it is my own drunk hand writing and I got it after 4 days of hardcore drinking and no sleep at all in Berlin. This tattoo is pretty ironic because I’m not this down to earth, chilled hippie kind of person who tries to spread wisdom and good vibes, Im actually the biggest drama queen ever and I often tend to forget to see life from the bright side. However, even though my tattoo is as an obvious joke about my personality, it is also some kind of tribute to my father. We don’t get along well but I love and admire him very much. He is a musician and made an album once called “Keep Smiling”. Listening to this album always fills me up with so much joy and so many memories from my childhood. The tattoo is like my little eternal piece of that and I absolutely love it.

I just got this tattoo done today, though I have wanted it for a while. It’s the ending line of the movie Black Swan. I love the movie and it inspires me so much. The film is one of few movies I can watch over and over and enjoy every minute. Its a true piece of theatrical art. The closing lines mean so much to me because I have always been self conscious. I got it as a reminder that there is and always will be something, at least one thing, in my life that is somehow perfect. So I got it to look at and reflect on the perfect things in my life, past and present, and cheer myself up.

This is my second tattoo. I got this dinosaur together with my best friend. We’ve been best friends since kindergarten. We met through playing with the dinosaurs in our class. In 7th grade she moved from New York to New Hampshire. We’re now freshmen in College and she’ll be moving back to New York for school. We got the same Apatosaurus at Top Shelf Tattooing in Bayside, New York. Both of my tattoos were done there by Jamie.

This is my Narwhal tattoo or as my artist liked to call it a Gnarwhal! It’s on my foot & the picture was taken the day after it was done. I have plans on getting an anchor on the other foot in a couple of months! I got a narwhal because I’m a water baby and I’m also slightly obsessed with unicorns. I love the myths behind the origins of the narwhal and how they were once the unicorns who missed the ark and turned into narwhals.

i got this done yesterday, its my first tattoo and it was done buy Conan Ball. I’m so pleased with how it came out. its of a ship that my mum worked on when she was my age, a couple of years after she stopped working on it it sank. it doesn’t actually hold that much personal sentiment, i just really liked the picture that i found of it, it is really nice to have a story to tell about it though. the picture that it came from is on my blog.
