I got this tattoo 2 years ago and one month before my friend Jarrett’s one year death anniversary. I wanted to get roses in yellow and white but since I have olive skin, my tattoo artist talked me out of it. I pretty much told my tattoo artist what I wanted done and drew up the sketch in less than 10 minutes.
My friend, Jarrett Trent Mahaa (the initials in the banner) died on January 14, 2010. He and 2 others were on their way to Daytona for work when one of the truck’s tires blew out. Jarrett was unfortunately not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the car and hit the pavement where he immediately died. It was such a great loss for me and all my friends, including his family. I look at this tattoo everyday and I will never regret having his initials on my body. I even got it on my left arm so when I hold my arm to my side, the heart is touching my heart.
My tattoo artist is Juan Castellano and he works at Kadillac Tattoo in Jacskonville, Fl. He is extremely talented and has done 4 of my 5 tattoos.
