My grandpa died two weeks ago. And the pain of feeling like you could have expressed your love more is haunting me now.
“Kiddo” was his term of endearment for everyone. So that may not sound like a very special nickname, but when my mom informed me he had passed the first thing in my mind was him calling me that and the way he used to throw his head back when he’d laugh. I didn’t get it very big because my grandpa was a very humble man. He wouldn’t like the idea of anything dedicated to him let alone a huge piece. I got it for me though. So every time I see it on my wrist I can remind myself to be the best person I can be. Like he would have wanted me to to grow to be. He was what was good about people. The world is missing one of the most amazing human beings now, but heaven has gained a new bright bright angel. I love you Max. You were the family’s own Atticus Finch and you’ve left us a lot behind to follow.
