It’s for my Papa who was in the Navy.
In 2006 I moved out of my parents house and into my grandparents house. Ever since I was 1, my Papa had battl
ed cancer and I knew starting when I moved in that I wanted an anchor tattoo for him. The summer of 2009, going into sophomore year, my Papa passed away from several different kids of cancer. I remember that night like it was yesterday. After living with him for several years, this hit me very hard. I couldn’t stand living in that house without him there. And I moved back home. He was like my second father. He called me his daughter, not his grand daughter. I miss him more and more everyday.
3 and a half years later, here I am with this beautiful tattoo. I spent so much of my life trying to find the perfect anchor. To know me was to know how much I love anchors and that I wanted this tattoo. And going through all the pain was completely worth it.
