This is my first tattoo. I have spent several years dithering about trying to figure out what I wanted.
In December of 2011, I lost my mother to severe diabetic complications (multiple heart attacks, kidney failure, etc). In sept of this year, my grandmother passed. Both of them loved and adored the hummingbird. My mother would often lament that she had tried everything, but was unable to get them to come to feeders at her house like my grandmother could.
What I wanted for my first tattoo became crystal clear.
This was done by the amazingly talented Lisa Murphy of Against the Grain Tattoo here in Melbourne, Florida. The picture was taken right after it was finished and before I stepped out of the chair.
