Done on November 1, 2012, at Split Sick Ink by “Tattoo Tony” in Greenwood, South Carolina.

“Fiction” symbolizes my love of literature and of writing in particular. My writing is my escape. It is what defines me as a person. It’s a skill I’ve always had for as long as I can remember. I want to show this off to the world, let everyone know that I am a writer.

This tattoo is also in honor of the late, great Reverend Tholomew Plague of my favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold — “The Rev” for short, which is why I got “Rev” in red. I’ve been listening to this band since before Jimmy died, so I was familiar with his charisma, talent, and personality. He inspired me to live life to its absolute fullest, and his abrupt death taught me that I should enjoy each and every precious day that is so graciously given to me. “Fiction” is also partially dedicated to The Rev; he had the word “Fiction” tattooed down his sternum. He believed his life was like fiction, a story. And that’s how I’ve always wanted to live my life.

Obviously, this tattoo holds a lot of meaning for me. I’ve been planning to get it since Jimmy’s death back in 2009.

I also had “Fiction” by Avenged Sevenfold playing in the background while I was in the shop. Incredibly emotional for me.
