Ink by Jay Kush at Love Tattoo in Jenison, Michigan
This tattoo is for my recently deceased father. He was a member of the navy, and I felt that this was the most appropriate way to commemorate the memory of him for me. The swallow represents the journey a sailor takes, the slogan “Hold Fast” was tattoed on sailors knuckles as a reminder that if you go overboard, the only thing you have to save you is the line you are holding. The anchor fluke reminds me to stay grounded to the morals he engrained in me, and the clipper ship sailing onto the sunset signifies him taking his last journey.
