“Apollian Gasket.” The idea that an infinite amount of circles can be made in the spaces between other circles.

Done 4/24/12 by Patrick at Tat2 Heaven, in Rockford, IL. While he was working on it, he kept making little jokes like “annnddddd another circle… What’s next? A circle,” but when he was completely done he ended with “you’re going to be so pissed, I did a bunch of squares instead!” :)

In February, my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and a few weeks ago she started losing her hair because of the chemo. So I decided to shave my head for St. Baldrick’s. When I had hair, I wore bows in it a lot so I got this tattoo to prove that I can still wear bows and be feminine even when I don’t have any hair. Also, teal is my grammy’s favorite color :)

Last year I went to Arizona to shoot a wedding. While I was there I got, what turned out to be, a not so great tattoo of a lighthouse and the lyrics: No I am not where I belong, shine a light to guide me home. I always wanted it re-done. A couple days ago I finally made that dream come true.

Done by Tom Carroll of Rabbits Den Tattoo Parlor in Milltown, NJ. I am absolutely in love with this and I cannot believe it is a part of me. It is on my right thigh, still a little swollen in this picture. 11 inches from top to bottom, about 7 inches across. Took over 4 hours, one setting.

I love City and Colour and these lyrics mean a lot to me.

Those are my cute matryoshkas. My grandmother has some and I spent my childhood playing with them, now I got it tattooed to honor the beautiful women of my family: my grandmother, my mom and I haha It’s actually a cover up!

I got it at Supernova Tattoo (Rio de Janeiro) with Limão! He’s so great and talented!

My new tattoos, and also my first tattoos. Located on my forearms. (Done by Roy Ramirez at The Darkside Tattoo.)

They are the chemical symbols for the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin. Dopamine plays in a role in regulation of behavior, motivation, reward, attention, learning and mood. Serotonin plays a role in regulation of mood, appetite, sleep, memory and learning.  Together they both directly influence happiness/sadness/depression/anxiety, which are all issues I have struggled with my entire life. These tattoos serves as reminders that my body literally can (and does) make my own happiness. It is also a reminder that under any circumstance I can also choose happiness over anxiety or depression, that I CAN concur it, and to remember how I have overcome so much in the past year.

This is the album art from the Circa Survive - On Letting Go CD. It was done by Phil at Bent and Twizted Tattoos in Willington, CT, although he now owns his own shop and no longer works at Bent and Twizted. He does amazing work I don’t don’t regret the 6 hours of suffering. This tattoo (as well as this band) was a way for me to overcome one of the biggest hardships in my life, dealing with major depression. Now that I have overcome my depression, I see this tattoo on my arm every day and I’m reminded how far I’ve come in my life, and how far I’m hoping to get in the future.

Hello, my name is Roi and I am in a band named The Material.  After a recent show in Albuquerque, NM we decided to get matching tattoos of our personal mantra, “To Life”.  You can watch an explanation of the mantra in an interview we did with our friends at Keep A Breast here —> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhcRIY1QhXk.  You can also check out The Material by clicking the pic or going to www.facebook.com/thematerialmusic.

Santo Nino, or Saint Nino, has been a religous figure that has followed me throughout my childhood. As the patron saint of children, my mom has had figurines of him in my bedroom to continuously guide and bless me. Now that I’m a college student, I still have a figurine of him in my apartment to watch over me.

I got my chest tattooed by Nick at Kingsland Ink in Auckland New Zealand and it was designed by Amy at amytrouble.co.nz.

I did it over three, two and a half hour sessions each a month apart.

I actually have to drive two hours to get to Kingsland Ink, but it’s so worth ‘cause the team is so great and Nick is an amazing artist.

This is my third tattoo, and my best friends first. Both tattoos were done by Jordi Ramone (Whom I HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the south carolina area) at Shanghai Tattoo, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We took a long quote, and split it in half across our chests. The entire quote reads “Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future.” My name is Patrick, and I’m the one on the right with “Every sinner has a future” (mentholandsnapbacks.tumblr.com) And my friend Raith is on the left. (goodwithit.tumblr.com). The quote itself has massive significance to both of us. Last june, we both made a huge mistake, that landed us with a felony charge, two misdemeanor charges, a couple days in jail, and three years of probation. We were two very stupid teenagers, smoking weed nonstop, partying every night, and not really caring what happened to us. We thought we were invincible, and nothing could stop us. But now, ten months later, after multiple court dates, emotional moments with family and our girlfriends, and a lot of money spent on lawyers and court fees, we are two completely different people. We’re both 20 years old, with decent jobs, good solid relationships with our girlfriends, doing well in school, and of course keeping up with and following the guidelines of our probation. We no longer get high, party every night, or act stupid in general. Of course, we are in college, and still attend the occasional college party, but as long as our grades stay up, and we keep up with our probation, we don’t see anything wrong with having a little bit of fun every once in awhile. Overall we have become decent, functioning members of society. We messed our lives up, and worked hard to put them back together. We’re saints with bad pasts, and sinners with bright futures.
