Maktoob ( مكتوب ) is Past participle of the word Kitab (book). The characteristic expression of Muslim fatalism. Maktoob means “written” or in other words “it was meant to be.” This expressive word is spoken in moments of pain or distress. It keeps the human from giving up in the most powerful thing God created for them. It keeps humans from giving up on life.
