Edgar Allen Poe, done by the impeccable Sam Yaminiat Th’ink Tank Tattoo in Denver. I’ve always loved writing, and Poe stands as one of my greatest influences when it comes to the short story genre. As a writer, I could only hope to die penniless and live up to the legacy that Poe created for himself.

Done by Lucas Evans at Beelistic’s in Cinci!  It’s a linear paint tube.  I’m an artist, and felt like this kind of simplistic representation best reflected me and my work.  My friends don’t get it, but I am very happy with how it turned out.  It’s on my inner arm.

The newest additions to my horror sleeve! This is the classic photo from The Exorcist and also Hannibal. Sorry the top is dried up, was still healing when the photo was taken. And it looks twisted cause of how i was turning my arm for the photo.

When most people were watching sesame street, barney, and the power rangers… I was watching horror movies with my Father whenever my Mother was working late, I couldn’t get enough. And clearly I still can’t

My second tattoo.  I always loved reading Calvin and Hobbes when I was younger, and this image is from the last Calvin and hobbes comic that was ever printed.  Done at Fallen Owl Tattoo just outside Denver, CO.

These are my first tattoos. They’ve become a symbol of evolution and growth to me and they solidify a personal philosophy I have with myself.

Living Color, Rochester, NY - Tim

I love argyle and I couldn’t figure out what colors to get, but I also wanted to get something to commemorate my grandmother who passed away this previous summer.  I am a Leo (Gold), and she was an Aquarius (Turquoise), hence the color choice.  I put the turquoise outside the Gold, to symbolize that she is always watching me and surrounding me.

Now you can see it in all its brightly-colored glory. I think the mint green and the leaves (13!) are my two favorite parts.

My entire life I’ve been obsessed with watermelons, the ocean, and narwhals. About two years ago people started calling me narwheezy and that really marked a change in my life. I stopped living my life trying to please others, and I embraced my inner weirdness with a confidence I never thought possible. This narwhal colored like a watermelon represents me embracing a part of myself I never thought possible (and narwhals are fucking magical and awesome). Done by J-Sin at Industrial Piercing in Berkeley, CA.

I work in the wine industry and one of my first life changing experience with wine was a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. That bottle made me realize how great and freakin’ delicious wine can be. The CdP bottles usually come with an insignia, coat of arms, above the lable (example). I always thought it was great and wanted to tattoo it on my chest with some wings and a pair of heraldic roses that you can find in the Finnish coat of arms. My friend Maija Arminen who is an amazing tattoo artist designed and executed the tattoo and it was made in Lisko Galleria in Helsinki, Finland.

This is my first tattoo, located on my left ribcage. It reads “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good,” from the third book of the Harry Potter series.

As much as I could rave about how much I love the books and how they were a huge part of my childhood, it wouldn’t hold a candle to how much I enjoyed growing up with my 2 brothers and sister, and the strong bond between us that these books helped create. The four of us all are all extremely different, but the Harry Potter series was something that brought us together. I knew I had to get something to commemorate it, now that we’ve all grown up, moved across the globe, or started families. We’ll always be kids in my eyes.

It was done by Danny Derrick at San Luis Tattoo Co., in San Luis Obispo, CA. He’s a fantastic American Traditional artist, and legitimately one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

So here is to Matthew, Patrick and Leah, may we be forever mischievous.
