My stained glass peacock tattoo done by Sue at Amber’s Blue Velvet Tattoo in Langhorne, PA. I absolutely adore it and her.

I got a peacock because my family raised peacocks from eggs when I was younger. It was a really unique experience and have been in love with peacocks ever since. They are such beautiful, proud birds.

A vast majority of my family have served in the armed forces, predominantly the navy, and this represents my love and respect for how strong and brave they have all been.

taken as soon as it was done! my best friend has the other have and when we’re together our tattoos read “always… no matter what.” if you’ve ever seen the movie now and then you probably know the girls in the movie made a pact to be there for each other always, no matter what. and that’s pretty much what me and my best friend did today.

we got ours done by hank at elite ink tattoos in myrtle beach, sc. & he did an awesome job! he was great. i love my tattoo, i’ll never regret this :)

I grew up on Lake Ontario with my grandparents. Those years are my most cherished, especially since my grandfather, who was like a father to me has since past. He always used to say, ‘Drop anchor and rise and fall with the tide’. I got the anchor as a tribute to him, my childhood, and to always remember to hang in there. Keith Kuzara, from Pirates Alley in Lockport, NY, (Keith is also the screamer for the band My City, My Secret, CHECK EM OUT!) did the tattoo, and I honestly could not be more happy with it. The shop is comfortable, pricing is decent, and the guys are great. The work that comes out of Pirates Alley is some of the best in the western NY area.

This is my Tattoo of Destiny from the Sandman comic books series by Niel Gaiman (which I absolutely love), although Destiny is not new to the Sandman series. Michael Spades of Dermagraphic Studios in Texarkana, Texas did the ink.

I got this tattoo for several reasons, a couple of unexpected ones.

A friend once upon a time told me that I reminded her of Destiny from the Sandman. At that point I had never heard of the comic. She showed me a picture of Destiny and I fell in love before I knew anything about him. The idea of being chained to a book caught my attention, because I always had an affinity for academia, literature, and knowledge. Turns out that the Sandman is an exploration into a number of different intellectual fields. I thought that was a perfect reflection of who I am.

Another reason why I got the tattoo was as an exploration of the idea of Destiny and fate. Although I don’t buy into those ideas, it is hinted in the comic book that each of the Endless (entities in the Sandman that represent human psychological embodiments) manifest the opposite of their embodiment, thus being chained represents the idea of freedom. In a way it tells the story of a psychological battle, or a play of opposites, much as represented in Chinese Taoism. This was the clincher.

Destiny in the series is blind, but somehow he is still able to acquire knowledge from the book, referred to as the Cosmic Log or Book of Destiny. It contains all the past, present, and future events of every human. These were some other cool ideas that drew me into the character.

Overall, I am super happy I had the tattoo done, and the art and detail turned out really good. The placement is on my forearm.

I got this tattoo today for my dog who passed away two weeks ago. It was done by Ben Thompson at Art & Soul Tattoo in Mansfield, Massachusetts. He was great and I’m so pleased with how the tattoo came out.

This is my second tattoo and definitely won’t be my last. It’s only one of the two eyes that I will be getting. For me having eyes on my wrists helps me to remember that I need to keep my eyes on myself. I don’t need to worry about other people. I need to focus on me sometimes.

My tattoo was done by Micah from Atomic Tattoo in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Picture of my finished half sleeve. This took about 16 hours in three separate sessions. I can honestly say that the pain was worth it after seeing how beautifully made the tattoo is. Done at Rakel Tattoo in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Philippines by Rakel Natividad.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I’ve been waiting a while for this one.

I got this tattoo a couple days ago after making a very important decision about my life… It is the chemical structure for dopamine, which is a naturally occurring chemical in the brain that makes us feel happy and rewarded. High dopamine activity also occurs with the use of addictive, mood-elevating drugs. After recovering from a horrific car accident four years ago I became addicted to painkillers that helped the pain I felt from a shattered spinal column and the emotional pain from a destroyed family. But they slowly started to ruin my life, so I’ve hit the point now that I’ve decided that I want to get better and never have to live like this again. So the tattoo is a daily reminder that I can be happy without drugs or money or a happy family— or any external factors. I just have to want it and I just have to work at it.

This tattoo was done by Jules at Freaky’s in Boulder, CO. He did an excellent job; I LOVE IT!!
