its subject delta and elanore from bioshock 2, my favorite game of all time. i got it partly for my dad and i, but the real reason i got it is because i love the story behind the game and subject delta symbolizes protection and undying love.

Hellcat Tattoo - West Palm Beach, FL - Amanda
This tattoo was my 3rd one and it is a tribute to my mom. ”A mother eagle and her two baby birds following her every step.” She is basically the single biggest inspiration i have had in my life. She raised me and my brother practically by herself and even when things weren’t as good (at one point she had to work 2 jobs at once, to feed us) she still kept a positive vibe. She never stood between me and my dreams and always encouraged me to chase after them. I don’t think i will be ever able to thank her enough, but this tattoo (although she hates the fact that i like getting inked) is the closest to what i can get to showing her how much everything she has done for us, means to me.

I got the pine branch to represent the cabin in the woods that has been in my family for generations. It’s a place that is extremely important to me and my family and is something that I will always hold very dear to my heart. All of my most treasured memories as a child growing up are from that house. My family is the most important thing to me in my life and our mountain house is a huge symbol of our family and the memories we share.
I’m not a huge fan of getting lyrics tattooed but these lyrics from La Dispute’s song “Fall Down, Never Get Back Up Again” really speak to me and what I believe in. I truly, truly believe that the shitty things that happen to us in our lives are the most important things in our lives, and are the things that we need to go through in order to shape who we are and to become the person that we were meant to be. I believe that even in the most trying times we can find peace and hope and beauty. This tattoo is a constant reminder to me to find the beauty in the storms of my life. :)

“Fiction” symbolizes my love of literature and of writing in particular. My writing is my escape. It is what defines me as a person. It’s a skill I’ve always had for as long as I can remember. I want to show this off to the world, let everyone know that I am a writer.
I also had “Fiction” by Avenged Sevenfold playing in the background while I was in the shop. Incredibly emotional for me.
