We love cats. Have 7 of our own, all adopted strays and some ferals. My coworker, Dana, showed me sketch he did of a nekomata and thought this would be the perfect tattoo for me. In honor of Friday the 13th I decided to tat this #13 on my leg. I didn’t just do it cause of Friday the 13th, 13 is one of my favorite numbers.

This is my second tattoo and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! It is a reminder to love myself, and also to love other people and let myself love other people even if there is a risk of being hurt because love is the most powerful and important thing in this world, in my opinion. I love looking at my tattoo everyday, and it helps me to keep going when things seem hopeless.

I got it done at Spider Murphy’s in San Rafael by Paul. He did a great job - perfect size, thickness, and location!

I found the original sketch here on tumblr and couldn’t resist. I just needed to get it done. So here’s the result for the 1st session. Nothing special about this one, but the image stroke me so hard that I went to the tattoo artist and got it. Anyway, hope you all like it.
