I literally don’t know where I would be or what I would be doing with my life if it weren’t for my parents. These tattoos are hopefully self explanatory; my dad’s love for Star Wars and my mom’s love for unicorns.

Protest the Hero’s Fortress was one of the first metal albums I ever heard. Given that I’ve devoted my life to music, it seemed fitting that I get a tattoo that alludes to the band that started it all. I chose the beetle on the cover of Scurrilous because of it’s simplicity because the imagery on Fortress is far too complex and grandiose and I like both albums equally.

The Beetle in the context of the album cover is the only animal that didn’t manage to escape the vile tongue of the human. This can be interpreted in a number of ways and it’s ambiguity appealed to me the most. A couple ways you can interpret it are the following:

The beetle represents the extinct animals that man has killed off.

The beetle represents misfortune at the hands of others

The beetle represents sacrificing yourself for others.

etc. etc.

Really stoked on the way it came out. Enjoy!

I got this tattoo on 10/25/12 with my best friend since middle school. She’s always been there for me and I’m happy that she came with me and agreed to get it done as well.

My tattoos are all representative of my new look at life. My mom just died of Cancer and I knew I needed to heal myself. It’s the golden ratio and the result is 1.618, the number of perfection or phi. The divine proportion that can be found at many renaissance master pieces, including Monalisa. Represents for me the perfection of art, music and literature.
